Does the thought of having “Botox” scare you? 😰
Is it the thought of needles 💉 near your face OR are you more concerned about looking fake… or not being able to move your face?
Funnily enough, it’s generally the second option that concerns people the most… and for I time, I used to think the same thing.
Why?🤔… because I didn’t actually know anything about it.
But when I started to do my research (after umpteen people suggested I started offering it as a treatment), I started to understand how it actually works. 🤓
Creams, lotions and potions can only work so much (and let’s be honest, most of them promise results that are simply not possible).
We want something that IS going to work, preferably with more immediate results. This is why more and more people are turning to injectable treatments. 💉
Visible signs of aging can be can be improved with the use of Botulinum Toxins (most commonly known as Botox, although other brands are also used).
“Botox” is usually used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles where as fillers are used to add volume. Both can work very well together.
How does it work?
Botulinum toxins (Botox) temporarily block the nerve transmission to the muscle, reducing the amount of movement which causes the wrinkle or line.
It can be used to treat: Frown lines, forehead lines, crows feet, smokers lines, jaw slimming, teeth grinding, excessive sweating, etc.
The effects aren’t immediate but you should start to notice a reduction in the muscle movement 3-4 days after your treatment.
The full effect may not be seen until 10-14 days after your first treatment BUT the final results often last 3-4 months. 🙌
The most common side effects are slight bruising, swelling and slight heaviness but these generally subside within a few days.
Most people are concerned they may look overdone… or their face may look frozen… or their partner, friends or family will notice if they have had it done….
But in all honesty, most people won’t even notice unless you tell them.
If you are trying it for the first time, it can be a little bit scary (probably because you don’t really know what to expect), but most people get a bit braver on their second visit.
Would I recommend it?
I think it is a personal choice and is entirely up to you. But I would recommend (as with anything) to do your research beforehand.
I had my forehead and frown lines done (mainly because I wanted to know what it was like) and I was really pleased with the results. 😃
It was quick and painless and the results were subtle.
I think I look a lot happier these days… but that’s probably because I can no longer frown! LOL! 😂😂
Just remember, less is more. Just a small enhancement can make a huge difference.
