Add volume

Lip & Dermal Filler

Face and lip fillers (dermal fillers) are used to add volume and fill in lines and wrinkles to areas such as your lips, cheeks, nose to mouth, jawline, chin, etc.

Fillers are not permanent. They usually last between 6 and 18 months, although this can vary depending on the type of filler used, where it is injected and the general lifestyle of the client.

Most dermal fillers used in the UK contain a natural substance called hyaluronic acid which is already found in our bodies. If you have fillers, the rest of your face will continue to age as normal.

What happens when you have fillers?

An anaesthetic cream is often used first to pre-numb your skin before the treatment. The dermal filler is then injected into the area being treated which is then gently massaged.

It may feel uncomfortable during the treatment but should not be painful (although everyone's pain threshold varies). The treatment itself usually takes around 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

After your treatment

It is normal to experience tenderness for 7-14 days after treatment. The affected area may be a bit red, sore and swollen immediately after the treatment but any swelling or bruising should settle down in a few days.

You should be advised about what to do to help reduce the risk of side effects. This includes not wearing make-up immediately after the procedure and avoiding alcohol, coffee and the sun. It is recommended that you keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water before and after your treatment.

Risks

The risks of dermal fillers depend on whether the procedure was done correctly and on the type of filler used. These will be addressed during your consultation.

Wrinkle Relaxing

Anti-wrinkle injections are injected into the skin to temporarily relax the muscles and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It works by blocking the communication between the nerves and the muscles, preventing the muscular movement that causes wrinkles. Over a period of time, muscle movement is restored with a 'wearing off effect'.

The most common problem areas to be treated are frown lines (between the eyebrows), forehead and crow's feet.

A consultation is required before booking a treatment. Not everyone is suitable for anti-wrinkle injections.

You cannot have this treatment if you are Pregnant or Breast Feeding.

After your treatment

You will not see the results immediately after your treatment, as it can take 3-5 days before the injections take effect, although it may take up to two weeks for the full effect to be seen.

You may experience headaches or flu-like symptoms 24-48 hours after the treatment and there may be slight bruising at the injection site.

A two week review is required after your treatment.

re-modelling treatment

Profhilo

Profhilo is an EXCLUSIVE skin re-modelling treatment that will give you visible results in just 2 visits. It is considered to be safe, effective and “a true breakthrough” in anti-ageing medicine. It is used for skin remodelling and treating skin laxity, not for just filling lines and wrinkles. It tightens, lifts, remodels, redefines and texturises the skin.

According to the makers, it delivers dramatic improvement in tissue quality, even in challenging areas and is complementary to other aesthetic treatments and dermal filler procedures.

This revolutionary NEW treatment takes just 10 minutes, with 5 injection points into your main area of concern. It stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin due to the slow release of hyaluronic acid, resulting in significant improvement of tissue quality.

What skin type?

This treatment is aimed at patients who have visible signs of ageing skin. It’s usually for people aged between 40 and 60 years old. However, this does not mean Profhilo® can’t work on others. In younger patients, it will have more of a preventive effect.

What are the results?

After just a single course of Profhilo®, which involves two injectable treatments four weeks apart, clients can expect to see intense hydration. It makes the skin glow and fine lines can disappear. You’ll notice smoother, tighter skin.

Even for those clients with very wrinkled skin, an improvement in the texture is undeniable.

It is recommended that the treatment is repeated after six months to maintain the results if more repair is desired.

Injectable skin treatment

Sunekos

Sunekos is a new injectable treatment containing amino acids and Hyaluronic acid. It works by stimulating the fibroblasts in the skin to produce a complete mix of collagen and elastin.

Similar to Profhilo, Sunekos helps correct and protect the dermis from the signs of aging. It is a natural product that stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin in the skin to help restore elasticity and volume.

Sunekos is a great option for people who wish to maintain a more natural look or those who do not want Botox or fillers. Or as an add on to your treatments to improve the quality of your skin.

Sunekos can be used on different parts of the body as: face, neck, décolleté and hands. It is particularly effective under the eye area, to reduce Dark Circles and Bags.

Sunekos can treat various indications, including; loss of tone, skin ageing and premature skin ageing, skin dryness, solar elastosis, acne scarring, sun damage, dark circles under the eyes and fine lines and wrinkles.

How long does it last?

Results can last for up to 6 months, depending on the patient's lifestyle and skin conditions, before the procedure would need to be repeated.

Depending on the area being treated and results required, 2-4 treatments may be required, normally 7-10 days apart.

POD Threads

What are PDO Threads?

PDO Threads are non-surgical and cosmetic. They are used for treatments to restore volume or fullness to the face and they work by reducing or eliminating lines, wrinkles, folds in the skin, as well as skin tightening – just like a face lift. The effect can be seen immediately after treatment, but it is also progressive and gets better with time as the collagen builds up around the dissolving threads.

The principles of PDO Thread Lifting

PDO Threads are one of the most popular and highly effective non-surgical means to lift & tighten loose, sagging skin tissues as well dissolve small areas of fat on the lower face and body. PDO (polydioxanone) is a synthetic fibre and in aesthetics, the threads help to lift sagging skin as well as stimulate new collagen - your own natural collagen. Another interesting effect of the threads are their ability to induce lipolysis (fat cell death) which is quite effective in treating facial and body stubborn fat areas as well as inducing collagen and tightening the skin. It’s an amazing discovery!

About the Procedure

Thread lifts have become a minimally invasive alternative to the facelift for patients who are not ready to undergo more aggressive treatment options. Although the effects from a thread lift will be temporary and not as dramatic as a facelift, improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles can be seen gradually as the procedure stimulates natural collagen production.

PDO, which stands for polydioxanone, is an absorbable polymer that is flexible and durable for minimally invasive thread lifts.

There are three main textures of PDO sutures: mono, cog, and screw threads:

  • • Mono threads are singular, smooth sutures that are anchored to the face that provide a small lift to the face.
  • • Cog threads have a barbed texture that provides better lift and increased collagen production.
  • • Screw threads have 1-2 intertwined threads which provide volume to the treated area.

For patients who only desire skin tightening and rejuvenation, mono threads may be sufficient. Patients who desire more lifting and volume will better benefit from textured cog or screw threads.

PDO Thread Lift addresses concerns such as:

Jowls, Fine Lines & Wrinkles, Nasolabial Folds, Facial Skin Laxity, Neck & Jawline Definition, Brows... and more.

The Process

Before treatment, the patient's skin will be marked for insertion and direction of the inserted threads. Once marked, the insertion points will be thoroughly anesthetized. Multiple threads can be inserted through the same point in the skin.

PDO threads are attached to a long cannula. The cannula will be pushed through the tissue beneath the skin. When the thread has reached its predetermined end point, the thread will be released and the cannula removed. This process will be repeated until the desired lift has been achieved, with as many 1-15 threads inserted depending on the treatment area and concern being addressed. Any extra thread will be trimmed. The threads will be massaged to ensure the tissue is smooth and no dimpling is present.

Recovery is minimal after a PDO thread lift procedure. Most patients are able to resume normal activity within 1 week postoperatively.

The goal of a PDO thread lift is to reposition facial and neck tissues to restore and rejuvenate youthful proportions and appearances to the face.
