Nipple & Areola Tattooing
There are a number of reasons why women (and some men) are in need of medical tattoo treatments for the breast area. More and more women who are diagnosed with breast cancer are choosing to have a full mastectomy, often resulting in the loss of their nipple and areola. If they choose to have reconstructive surgery, it is now possible to have the nipple and areola tattooed.
Hannah can work on the diffusion of scars, areola re-sizing and symmetry correction, nipple colour enhancement, and full areola reconstruction following surgical procedures. Whatever your reason, she has extensive knowledge in this area of work to ensure the best outcome for you.
Prior to the treatment, we will complete a personal medical consultation which will explore your medical history in detail.
In order to ensure the correct outcome, we will need to understand what surgery or treatments you have had (or are planned for the future). We will then talk with you about your desired outcome from the treatment and what you want to achieve. Knowing this will help us to work with you, to develop a solution that meets your needs. Other key factors, such as your skin tone, breast shape and size will also be taken into consideration.
During the design phase, we will put draw your new areola/nipple onto your skin and you will be fully involved in this process. We will choose the correct colours and even custom blend them to perfectly match your requirements.
The treatment itself involves gently implanting microscopic particles of pigment into the reticular layer of the skin. The specialist equipment used is refined, quiet and gentle.
The treatment time will depend on your requirements and the treatment required.
Your initial result will look darker in appearance but as the skin heals, the colour will lighten considerably.
You will need to follow a simple aftercare routine that involves basic care of the area and the application of a gentle balm. Depending on your treatment and degree of scarring, it could be that you require more than one appointment; however, this is entirely dependent on your individual circumstances and requirements.
